New Student Orientation 2025

The University of Lethbridge is welcoming students back for the Fall 2025 semester, lots of new faces and new ideas to be shared!

We had the opportunity to take part in NSO this year, encouraging first-years to consider the question, "What does EDI in Science mean to you?" as they finish their undergrad lab tour.

A lot of the students asked "What is EDI?", and that is exactly why we set up the discussion board! This gave us the chance to talk to new students and introduce EDI to them, encouraging them to answer the question to their best ability.

Throughout the semester, we hope to take their answers and put them into action!

We look forward to seeing you all through the year, cheers!

ACID:BASE acknowledges the traditional lands and territories of the Indigenous peoples who have lived on these lands and taken care of them since time immemorial. University of Lethbridge is situated on Treaty 7 territory – the traditional and ancestral territory of Siksikaitsitapi – the Blackfoot Confederacy, which includes the Kainai Nation, Piikani Nation, Amskapi Piikani, and the Siksika Nation. Treaty 7 is also home to the Tsuut’ina Nation, the Stoney Nakoda, and is within the historical Northwest Métis Homeland known as the Battle River Territory. We acknowledge and give gratitude to the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit who have lived in and cared for these lands for generations. We acknowledge the Traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders, both past and present, and are grateful for their contributions that helped keep this land beautiful. We make this acknowledgement as an act of reconciliation.
